What does making an impact really mean? A reflection on leadership, influence, and creating positive change that people actually feel.

This weekend I had the pleasure of going to a festival organised by two of the most incredible people I have met.

I have seen them work on it for a few years, pushing through deadlines, getting people on track to have things sorted. Months and months of crazy preparation.

And the result?

Ecstatic.
It makes me feel inconsequential haha. The sheer number of people at the festival, the level of performances, it is off the charts. It is incredible how two people can start the snowball of so many smiling faces, of so many laughs (I do need to give my friend a nice joke book though haha).

I am so thankful I got to meet them, and that they make me feel inspired.

This got me reflecting on something I heard Les Brown say years ago: “Make an impact.”

You should always strive to make an impact in people’s lives, to boost them and try to help them get to new heights.

They gave me the chance that weekend to try just that, and I hope I got my point across.

I hope that I am slowly building something that will make an impact on people, so everyone can achieve more in their lives.

So here’s the question I’m sitting with:

Are we making an impact?
Or are we just being present?

Thank you guys for being as awesome as you are and for putting something out into the world that makes it a bit brighter than the day before.
